Cloud crashes through the roof of a church onto a flower bed. He hallucinates talking to Sephiroth again, but is woken up by Aerith, the woman who sells the flowers he had met in the aftermath of the Mako Reactor 1 bombing. She is being pursued by the Turks, Shinra's black ops and intelligence operations division, and hires Cloud to be her bodyguard to take her home safe. Cloud protects her from Reno, but they find the church being overrun by the mysterious cloaked beings. This time the beings do not attack, only stopping Cloud from killing Reno and guiding them to a way out.
Unlike in the original game, players cannot "store" their limits after battle to use on the next; the gauge will reset at the end of battle.
Even though it is an action game, if we went for a system that relied purely on players’ reflexes, it would raise the barrier to entry for people who do not usually play many action games.
The dominant faction of the world is the Shinra Electric Power Company, a powerful corporation that harvests Mako as an energy source. Shinra is seen as responsible for raising the quality of life for everyone in its sphere of influence.
Many of the main characters come to outlive the people and the places they once used to identify with, struggling to fit in their current reality. Examples of this are Cloud and his past in Nibelheim and SOLDIER, Barret as the leader of AVALANCHE, Red XIII as the protector of Cosmo Canyon, and Cid as Shinra's aeronautical engineer. The cast is motivated by the loss of something that once defined them.

The Remake project began when Final Fantasy producer Shinji Hashimoto broached the subject to Kitase, Nojima, and Nomura. All three were reaching a stage of life that they defined as "that age": all felt that if they waited much longer, they might not be alive to or would be too old to develop a remake, and passing the project on to a new generation did not feel right.
Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII escape the Shinra Building via the expressway with vehicles stolen from the Shinra exhibition rooms, taking out numerous Shinra troops and robots sent out to pursue them. At the end of the expressway, they run into Sephiroth, who was waiting for them and final fantasy 7 remake everyone being able to see him now. Sephiroth cuts a passageway into thin air and disappears, telling Cloud to follow.
If we managed to put together a full timetable for all the trains in Midgar then I reckon we could all become railway employees for real!
